Blue Ceramic From Bezel To Bracelet
The Royal Oak 15500 Blue Ceramic is chosen for its uninterrupted blue surface. The blue zirconia ceramic bezel, case and integrated bracelet turn the familiar octagon into one continuous shape, while the Grande Tapisserie dial adds a second texture at the centre. It reads differently from a steel Royal Oak before the dial is even considered: steel breaks light across brushed and polished planes, whereas the ceramic surface uses colour and relief to define the outline.
The three-hand display is important because it leaves room for that material treatment. Without chronograph registers, the dial texture, markers and date display sit in a clear visual order, and the blue case does not have to compete with a busy face. The result suits a collector who likes the 15500 proportion but wants a Royal Oak that is recognisable for its surface treatment rather than simply another dial colour.
