It still reads as a Portugieser from across the room, but it no longer feels limited to conservative silver, white or blue.
The sunburst green surface moves from near-black forest tones to a brighter emerald response as the angle changes. Rhodium-tone numerals and hands remain sharp against it, while the snailed small-seconds register introduces a quieter texture at the bottom of the dial. This is the appeal of the reference: the color creates energy, but the architecture keeps it controlled.
The Small-Seconds Position Protects the Design
