A shaped case around a chronograph
The chronograph sub-dials sit inside a fine outer scale, and the curved lugs give the case a profile that a straight-lug dress chronograph cannot copy. The brown strap draws out the warmth of the rose-gold-tone case without competing with the silver face.
The chronograph has a more formal role than a wide sports chronograph because its design energy stays close to the dial and curved lugs. The silver face also gives the timing scale contrast without making it look technical. It is a good fit for occasions where a complication should remain polished.
The outer timing scale and paired registers give the face a measured cadence, making the complication useful to look at even when it is not in use.
